Welcome to the Sonoran Sun Resort in Puerto Penasco “Rocky Point” Mexico. This 2005 constructed resort condominium was built by the Sonoran Resorts and was the 3rd of 5 “Sonoran Resorts” projects in Puerto Penasco. One of the main reasons why the Sonoran Sun and other Sonoran Resort condos are so popular is they’re “true beachfront” condos built parallel to the Sea of Cortez. This gives you unobstructed views of Sandy Beach and the Sea of Cortez from inside your condo and on your balcony. The Sonoran Sun Resort is a mixture of nightly rentals, full-time owners (mostly American expats), and weekend owner usage. There is a good mix of owner and renter usage at the Sonoran Sun Resort. The condo floor plans range from 1 bed, 2 bed, and 3 bed between 2 buildings with 228 total units. If you are looking to purchase a Sonoran Sun condo for sale as an investment property, you have the option of either self-renting your condo yourself or hiring the on-site property management company (Casago) to manage it for you. Casago operates the front desk check-in for the resort and can provide you with turn-key property management services. I have personally owned and operated my own rental property at the Sonoran Sun and can certainly offer you my personal insights into what it’s like owning and renting at the Sonoran Sun Resort. If you are a pet owner, you can bring your pets to the Sonoran Sun Resort, but nightly renters are prohibited from bringing their pets. If you opt to rent your condo out to a guest for more than 30 days then the guest is authorized to bring their pet, if you approve. Given that the Sonoran Sun is 15 years old now, you will find a mixture of original condition condos, partially remodeled condos, and fully remodeled condos to choose from. When you purchase a condo at the Sonoran Sun or any other condo resort in Puerto Penasco you will most likely purchase it fully furnished right down to the forks and knives. If you so choose to refurnish your condo, there are some good options in town such as Ashley Furniture or if you wish to purchase furniture in the US I know an excellent mover who can transport your furniture to your condo.

Sonoran Sun Resort Amenities:

– 24/7 guard-gated community with security also patrolling the parking lot and pool area.

– Two swimming pools with a swim up bar. In the winter, the smaller pool is heated and is for everyone to enjoy. In the summer, the smaller pool is adult-only. The larger pool is for everyone, year round.

– Two hot tubs (one is adult-only and one is family).

– Pool swim up bar features both drinks and food. Bar stools in the pool to enjoy your drinks and food!

– Beachfront palapas and lounge chairs (exclusively for Sonoran Sun owners/guests).

– Emiliano’s Restaurant and Bar (room service available) open daily 8am – 10pm.

– Fitness Center open 6am – 9pm Daily.

– Convenience store (ATM, drinks, beer/alcohol, snacks, sun screen, ice, etc.) open Thursday – Monday 7am – 11pm and Tuesday – Wednesday 9am – 5pm. Hours may change.

– Tennis court and basketball court.

– Three EV electric car charger stations available. Free to charge your electric car.

Sonoran Sun Resort Golf:

If you are a golfer, living at the Sonoran Sun you are a very short drive (less than 15 minutes) to both The Links at Las Palomas Golf Course and The Club at Islas Del Mar. If you are looking to experience one of Sonora’s best golf courses and don’t mind a 30 minute drive, you can venture over to Vidanta Penasco.
